Meeting with Joanne Costa and her school

I had heard that Joanne was now a school principal.  I wanted to meet her on this visit to Australia.  We became  good friends when we met  at Unley High School in 2011 where she was working as a deputy principal.  I didn't have a way to contact her but Charlie helped me to make contact with her at her school on Wednesday, November 29th.  I was very happy to meet her again.  I would like to thank Charlie for arraigning the meeting and also  Lindsay and Carolyn for taking me there in their car.  Joanne gave me a tour of her school, showing me the carpentry and textile work shop, home economics class, art gallery, computer class and science lab. Everything was so nice.  I don't think there is any school in Nepal like this. But she tells me that this is a poor school and needs a government budget to do more. So surprising! Her feeling that her school is poor, when it surely surpasses all our Nepali schools.  That made me think of the Nepali education system and not just only my school.  I would like to thank Joanne for tea and lunch and for giving me this tour of her school.
